Desain Pencahayaan Liturgi untuk Pengalaman Ibadah di Katedral Jakarta

Sebuah studi pencahayaan liturgi yang berpusat pada manusia untuk Katedral Jakarta, yang mengeksplorasi bagaimana pencahayaan memengaruhi pengalaman ibadah, suasana sakral, hierarki visual, dan persepsi spiritual di dalam lingkungan katedral bersejarah.

 

Gambaran Umum Proyek

Sejak masa kolonial Belanda, Katedral Jakarta telah menjadi salah satu landmark keagamaan dan budaya terpenting di Indonesia. Selain nilai arsitekturalnya, katedral ini tetap berfungsi sebagai tempat ibadah yang aktif, simbol kerukunan beragama, serta rumah rohani bagi generasi demi generasi umat Katolik di Jakarta.

Sebagai bagian dari komitmen berkelanjutan Katedral Jakarta dalam melestarikan warisan budayanya sekaligus meningkatkan pengalaman beribadah, serangkaian studi skenario pencahayaan liturgi telah dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi bagaimana berbagai strategi pencahayaan memengaruhi persepsi terhadap ruang suci, hierarki visual, suasana spiritual, dan simbolisme liturgi.

Proyek ini mengkaji bagaimana pencahayaan dapat mendukung berbagai bentuk ibadah, perayaan keagamaan, dan acara seremonial, sekaligus tetap menghormati karakter arsitektur dan makna historis katedral tersebut. Alih-alih hanya berfokus pada tingkat pencahayaan, studi ini meneliti bagaimana pencahayaan memengaruhi respons emosional, keterlibatan spiritual, serta hubungan antara jemaah dan arsitektur suci.

Dalam teologi Kristen, cahaya sering dipahami sebagai perwujudan kehadiran, kebenaran, dan kemuliaan ilahi Allah, sementara arsitektur gereja mencerminkan kesetiaan jemaat serta keinginan mereka untuk memuliakan Allah melalui lingkungan bangunan. Oleh karena itu, hubungan antara cahaya dan arsitektur menjadi komponen penting dalam menciptakan lingkungan ibadah yang bermakna, di mana jemaat dapat berjumpa dengan yang ilahi melalui iman, ruang, dan pengalaman indrawi.

Melalui serangkaian model pencahayaan dan evaluasi skenario, proyek ini meneliti bagaimana desain pencahayaan yang cermat dapat memperkuat hubungan antara iman, arsitektur, dan pengalaman manusia di dalam salah satu bangunan warisan keagamaan paling penting di Indonesia.

Tantangannya

Pencahayaan dalam arsitektur sakral memiliki tujuan yang secara mendasar berbeda dari pencahayaan di lingkungan komersial, perhotelan, atau hiburan. Tantangan utamanya adalah menciptakan skenario pencahayaan yang mendukung baik fungsi liturgi maupun pengalaman spiritual, sekaligus menjaga martabat arsitektur dan suasana sakral katedral tersebut.

Beberapa pertimbangan utama telah diidentifikasi:

  • Mendukung berbagai perayaan liturgi dan acara seremonial

  • Memperkuat hierarki visual di dalam ruang ibadah

  • Meningkatkan pemahaman tentang seni sakral dan detail arsitektur

  • Meningkatkan kenyamanan visual bagi jemaah

  • Mengurangi silau dan gangguan penglihatan

  • Menyeimbangkan pencahayaan fungsional dengan suasana spiritual

  • Menghormati nilai warisan katedral tersebut

  • Tantangan terkait kondisi struktur lama dalam pemasangan baru

  • Keberlanjutan, keselamatan kelistrikan, dan tantangan pemasangan jangka panjang

Strategi pencahayaan liturgi yang berhasil harus membantu jemaat untuk memusatkan perhatian pada makna perayaan tersebut, bukan pada pencahayaan itu sendiri. Oleh karena itu, tantangannya bukanlah untuk membuat ruangan menjadi lebih terang, melainkan untuk menjadikan pengalaman spiritual tersebut lebih bermakna melalui pemanfaatan cahaya yang cermat.

Pendekatan Kami

Pendekatan kami dimulai dengan memahami katedral sebagai lingkungan suci di mana cahaya berperan sebagai elemen praktis sekaligus simbolis. Serangkaian model pencahayaan, evaluasi visual, dan studi skenario dikembangkan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana komposisi pencahayaan yang berbeda memengaruhi pengalaman beribadah, persepsi ruang, dan ekspresi liturgi.

Penelitian ini mengevaluasi:

  • Analisis hierarki visual

  • Hierarki fokus liturgi dan pengembangan skenario

  • Penilaian elemen arsitektur

  • Tinjauan pelestarian warisan budaya

  • Evaluasi kualitas cahaya dan daya reproduksi warna

  • Studi tentang rasio kontras antara area altar dan area jemaat

  • Tergantung pada hasil studi rasio kontras cahaya sekitar

  • Suasana emosional dan spiritual

  • Penilaian infrastruktur kelistrikan yang ada

  • Studi pencahayaan yang sudah ada untuk dimanfaatkan kembali

Perhatian khusus diberikan pada cara cahaya berinteraksi dengan unsur-unsur liturgi utama seperti altar, tabernakel, salib, lukisan dinding, patung-patung keagamaan, dan detail arsitektur.

Alih-alih menerangi seluruh ruang secara merata, desain ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana hierarki kecerahan yang terkendali dan kontras yang seimbang dapat mengarahkan perhatian ke elemen-elemen liturgi yang paling penting sambil tetap mempertahankan suasana kontemplatif.

Strategi Persepsi Cahaya yang Berpusat pada Manusia

Proyek ini mengadopsi filosofi pencahayaan yang berpusat pada manusia, yang mengutamakan pengalaman jemaat secara emosional, spiritual, dan visual di dalam ruang suci. Strategi ini secara cermat mempertimbangkan cara orang-orang: melihat, memusatkan perhatian pada altar, merenung, berdoa, bergerak di dalam ruang, dan berpartisipasi dalam ibadah.

Penelitian di bidang psikologi lingkungan menunjukkan bahwa cahaya memengaruhi persepsi emosional, perhatian, rasa nyaman, dan pemahaman spasial. Dalam arsitektur sakral, pencahayaan dapat berperan penting dalam menumbuhkan rasa khidmat, kontemplasi, kedamaian, dan keterikatan spiritual.

Gereja Katolik merayakan beragam praktik liturgi dan upacara, termasuk Jalan Salib, Adorasi Ekaristi, Malam Paskah, dan perayaan Paskah yang penuh sukacita. Setiap liturgi memiliki makna spiritual dan suasana emosional yang khas, yang dapat diperkuat melalui pencahayaan yang dirancang dengan cermat.

Pencahayaan yang sesuai dengan konteks liturgi dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan emosional, memperdalam rasa kehadiran yang sakral, serta memperkuat hubungan spiritual dan interaksi jemaat dengan Tuhan. Alih-alih sekadar berfungsi sebagai penerangan, cahaya menjadi bagian tak terpisahkan dari pengalaman liturgi, yang membantu menyampaikan simbolisme, memusatkan perhatian, dan membentuk karakter emosional ibadah.

Untuk mengkaji hubungan-hubungan ini, serangkaian delapan skenario pencahayaan liturgi diuji di Katedral Jakarta pada tanggal 21 Oktober 2024 dengan menggunakan sistem pengendalian pencahayaan Casambi. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi bagaimana komposisi pencahayaan, tingkat kecerahan, hierarki fokus, dan kualitas atmosfer yang berbeda-beda memengaruhi persepsi terhadap ruang suci serta mendukung berbagai bentuk ibadah dan perayaan keagamaan.

Oleh karena itu, skenario pencahayaan dievaluasi tidak hanya berdasarkan kinerja teknisnya, tetapi juga berdasarkan kemampuannya dalam mendukung:

  • Kenyamanan visual

  • Fokus kognitif

  • Keterlibatan emosional

  • Pengalaman spiritual

  • Penghargaan terhadap arsitektur

  • Suasana yang sakral

  • Simbolisme liturgi

Dengan mengontrol kecerahan, kontras, reproduksi warna, dan penekanan fokus secara cermat, pencahayaan ini membantu menciptakan suasana yang mendorong refleksi, partisipasi, serta pengalaman ibadah yang lebih bermakna.

Strategi Pelestarian Warisan Budaya dan Integrasi Pencahayaan

Proyek ini menuntut koordinasi yang erat antara pelestarian warisan arsitektur, persyaratan liturgi, teknologi pencahayaan, dan prinsip-prinsip desain yang berpusat pada manusia. Proses perancangan tersebut meliputi:

  • Penilaian Instalasi Listrik yang Ada untuk mengidentifikasi infrastruktur yang sudah tua, meminimalkan risiko kegagalan, dan mengurangi potensi bahaya korsleting.

  • Pemanfaatan kembali infrastruktur pencahayaan yang sudah ada untuk meningkatkan keberlanjutan, mengurangi limbah bahan, dan melestarikan keaslian sejarah bangunan.

  • Pengujian dan Evaluasi Mock-Up Pencahayaan untuk memvalidasi kualitas visual, suasana liturgi, dan harapan para pemangku kepentingan sebelum implementasi.

  • Sistem Pemasangan Lampu Non-Invasif untuk melindungi struktur bangunan bersejarah dan mematuhi prinsip-prinsip pelestarian warisan budaya.

  • Penerapan Sistem Pengendalian Pencahayaan Nirkabel untuk menghilangkan kebutuhan akan pemasangan kabel pengendali baru dan meminimalkan intervensi fisik terhadap bangunan bersejarah.

  • Integrasi sistem pencahayaan baru dan yang sudah ada untuk memaksimalkan fleksibilitas operasional sekaligus menjaga nilai investasi pada infrastruktur yang sudah ada.

  • Pemrograman Skenario Pencahayaan Adaptif untuk mendukung berbagai perayaan liturgi, acara seremonial, dan pengalaman ibadah.

  • Peningkatan Sistem Penerangan yang Hemat Energi untuk meningkatkan kualitas pencahayaan sekaligus mengurangi konsumsi energi dan biaya operasional jangka panjang.

  • Pengelolaan Silau dan Polusi Cahaya untuk meningkatkan kenyamanan visual dan meminimalkan dampak terhadap lingkungan.

  • Penilaian Dampak Termal untuk memastikan perlengkapan pencahayaan tidak menghasilkan panas berlebih yang dapat merusak bahan-bahan warisan budaya yang rentan. Perhatian khusus diberikan untuk memastikan bahwa pencahayaan mendukung liturgi sekaligus tetap menghormati arsitektur bersejarah katedral tersebut.

Strategi-strategi ini menunjukkan bagaimana desain pencahayaan yang cermat dapat secara efektif menjembatani pelestarian warisan budaya dan penerapan teknologi pencahayaan modern, sehingga Katedral Jakarta tetap menjadi sumber inspirasi bagi iman, komunitas, dan apresiasi budaya bagi generasi-generasi mendatang.

Pengujian dan uji coba skenario pencahayaan liturgi menunjukkan bagaimana strategi pencahayaan yang berbeda-beda dapat menciptakan persepsi yang sangat berbeda mengenai ruang suci, suasana emosional dan spiritual, serta pengalaman beribadah. Studi kasus ini menetapkan kerangka kerja untuk mengevaluasi intervensi pencahayaan di masa mendatang berdasarkan kinerja teknis dan hasil yang berpusat pada manusia. Manfaat utama dari proyek ini antara lain:

  • Hierarki visual yang lebih baik

  • Pengalaman beribadah yang lebih bermakna

  • Fokus liturgi yang lebih kuat

  • Kenyamanan visual yang lebih baik

  • Penurunan persepsi silau

Yang terpenting, proyek ini menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan pencahayaan gereja tidak hanya diukur dari tingkat kecerahannya saja. Sebaliknya, pencahayaan liturgi yang efektif membantu jemaat merasakan keterikatan yang lebih mendalam dengan ibadah, arsitektur, dan makna spiritual dari ruang tersebut.

Melalui integrasi yang cermat antara desain pencahayaan, pelestarian warisan budaya, dan prinsip-prinsip yang berpusat pada manusia, Katedral Jakarta terus menjalankan misinya untuk melestarikan warisan budayanya sekaligus memperkaya pengalaman jemaat generasi mendatang serta pariwisata Jakarta.

Kesimpulan

Studi skenario pencahayaan liturgi di Katedral Jakarta menunjukkan bahwa pencahayaan dalam arsitektur suci jauh lebih dari sekadar persyaratan teknis untuk visibilitas. Pencahayaan yang dirancang dengan cermat dapat membentuk persepsi emosional, memperkuat keterlibatan spiritual, mendukung simbolisme liturgi, serta mempererat hubungan antara jemaat dan ruang suci.

Dengan menyeimbangkan secara cermat antara persyaratan liturgi, pengalaman yang berpusat pada manusia, warisan arsitektur, dan kinerja pencahayaan, proyek ini menggambarkan bagaimana cahaya dapat menjadi bagian tak terpisahkan dari ibadah itu sendiri. Melalui berbagai skenario pencahayaan, katedral ini mampu menciptakan suasana yang mendukung refleksi, doa, perayaan, kontemplasi, dan ibadah bersama, sekaligus menjaga martabat serta makna historis salah satu landmark keagamaan terpenting di Indonesia.

Penelitian ini memperkuat keyakinan bahwa keberhasilan desain pencahayaan tidak hanya diukur dari tingkat kecerahan, melainkan dari kemampuannya untuk menyampaikan makna, membangkitkan emosi, dan memperkaya pengalaman manusia di dalam lingkungan binaan.

Studi Maket Pencahayaan Arsitektur Sakral untuk Katedral Jakarta

With great enthusiasm in welcoming the Apostolic Visit of Pope Francis to Jakarta Cathedral in September 2024, ALTA Integra contributed to improving the cathedral’s interior lighting quality through a mock-up lighting study exploring sacred atmosphere, visual hierarchy, architectural depth, color rendering, and human-centered worship experience within one of Indonesia’s most important religious heritage buildings.

 

Pencahayaan dalam arsitektur suci bukan sekadar soal visibilitas. Hal ini berkaitan dengan pembentukan suasana spiritual, persepsi emosional, serta hubungan antara pengalaman manusia dan ruang suci.

Studi pencahayaan menggunakan maket ini dikembangkan untuk mengkaji bagaimana berbagai strategi pencahayaan dapat memengaruhi hierarki visual, suasana kontemplatif, kedalaman arsitektural, serta persepsi terhadap seni religius dan unsur-unsur liturgi di dalam interior katedral.

Alih-alih hanya berfokus pada kecerahan, penelitian ini menyelidiki bagaimana kontras yang terkendali, kualitas reproduksi warna, keseimbangan luminansi, dan pencahayaan fokus dapat menciptakan lingkungan ibadah yang lebih berpusat pada manusia dan memberikan pengalaman spiritual yang lebih mendalam.

Melalui serangkaian simulasi pencahayaan dan evaluasi visual, proyek ini mengkaji bagaimana cahaya dapat secara hormat menonjolkan kekayaan arsitektural, simbolisme sakral, dan suasana emosional dari salah satu bangunan warisan keagamaan terpenting di Indonesia.

Rancangan Simulasi Pencahayaan Katedral Jakarta

Michael Ho dari ERCO Singapura membantu Katedral Jakarta selama proses simulasi pencahayaan, dengan menguji penempatan lampu, sudut sinar, dan kualitas pencahayaan guna mengevaluasi persepsi arsitektural, kenyamanan visual, serta pengalaman beribadah di dalam interior katedral bersejarah tersebut.

Evaluasi perbandingan model simulasi dilakukan antara solusi pencahayaan ERCO yang diusulkan (kiri) dan sistem pencahayaan yang ada (kanan). Dengan menggunakan spektrometer profesional, penilaian tersebut mengukur iluminansi (lux), suhu warna terkorelasi (CCT), dan indeks reproduksi warna (CRI) untuk memahami bagaimana teknologi pencahayaan yang berbeda memengaruhi persepsi visual dan pengalaman beribadah.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pencahayaan ERCO menghasilkan tingkat iluminansi yang lebih tinggi (736 lux berbanding 389 lux) sekaligus mempertahankan suhu warna yang hangat serta kinerja reproduksi warna yang unggul (CRI 90 berbanding CRI 82). Peningkatan ini memungkinkan ekspresi wajah imam, detail arsitektur, karya seni keagamaan, dan elemen-elemen liturgi dapat dipersepsikan secara lebih alami dan akurat.

Persentase Pencahayaan Berkedip di Katedral Jakarta

Pengukuran flicker dilakukan untuk membandingkan kinerja sistem pencahayaan yang ada dengan solusi pencahayaan ERCO yang diusulkan. Flicker merupakan parameter kualitas pencahayaan yang penting yang dapat memengaruhi kenyamanan visual, konsentrasi, kualitas rekaman kamera, serta pengalaman beribadah secara keseluruhan.

Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa sistem pencahayaan yang ada memiliki tingkat kedipan sebesar 14,31%, sedangkan sistem pencahayaan ERCO yang diusulkan mencapai tingkat kedipan yang jauh lebih rendah, yaitu 7,44%, yang berarti penurunan tingkat kedipan hampir sebesar 48%. Peningkatan ini berkontribusi pada terciptanya lingkungan visual yang lebih stabil, sehingga mengurangi risiko kelelahan mata dan ketidaknyamanan selama kegiatan ibadah yang berlangsung lama.

Perbandingan antara kedua pendekatan pencahayaan tersebut menunjukkan betapa strategi pencahayaan sangat memengaruhi persepsi visual, suasana emosional, dan pengalaman spiritual di dalam tabernakel gereja. Meskipun kedua pemandangan tersebut menerangi objek arsitektur suci yang sama, perbedaan dalam komposisi pencahayaan menciptakan kualitas ruang dan respons emosional yang sama sekali berbeda.

Strategi Penerangan Tabernakel yang Ada Saat Ini

Beberapa Lampu Sorot Kecil dengan Pencahayaan yang Terfragmentasi

Tabernakel yang ada saat ini diterangi menggunakan beberapa sumber lampu sorot kecil dengan distribusi sinar yang sempit. Meskipun strategi ini meningkatkan kecerahan di area tertentu, hal ini juga menimbulkan: silau pantulan yang berlebihan, pencahayaan yang terpecah-pecah, transisi terang-gelap yang tajam, kesan berantakan secara visual, distribusi kecerahan yang tidak merata, serta tidak adanya titik fokus.

Berbagai titik terang yang bertebaran menciptakan suasana yang secara visual terasa ramai, di mana mata terus-menerus berpindah antara area-area yang diterangi secara terpisah, alih-alih memandang komposisi altar sebagai titik fokus sakral yang utuh. Persepsi pencahayaan tersebut terasa: kontrasnya terlalu tajam, terfragmentasi, secara visual terlalu mencolok dan berisik, kurang tenang, serta kurang mampu menghadirkan pengalaman spiritual yang mendalam.

Lampu sorot dengan sinar yang sempit juga menciptakan area-area gelap yang berlebihan di antara permukaan-permukaan yang diterangi, sehingga narasi pahatan dan ukiran arsitektural tampak terpisah satu sama lain. Meskipun dramatis, pencahayaan tersebut kurang memiliki harmoni komposisi secara keseluruhan dan mengurangi nuansa kontemplatif yang diharapkan dalam arsitektur suci.

Penerangan Berlapis dan Hierarkis

Strategi pencahayaan pada maket ini bergeser ke arah komposisi yang lebih terintegrasi dan berlapis, dengan hierarki visual yang lebih baik serta keseimbangan luminansi yang terkendali. Pencahayaan pada maket tersebut menciptakan suasana sakral yang lebih halus dan padu dengan menonjolkan kehangatan keemasan alami serta kekayaan material dari arsitektur altar bersejarah tersebut.

Strategi ini menghasilkan: hierarki visual yang lebih kuat, keseimbangan kecerahan yang lebih baik, pengurangan persepsi silau, peningkatan kontinuitas spasial, kedalaman visual yang lebih besar, suasana sakral yang lebih terasa, serta menonjolkan warna cat keemasan.

Salib menjadi titik fokus spiritual utama, sementara relief dan ukiran hias di sekelilingnya tetap terhubung secara visual tanpa saling bersaing secara berlebihan untuk menarik perhatian. Kesan pencahayaan kini terasa: lebih sakral dan kontemplatif, lebih teratur secara visual, lebih kaya akan kedalaman dan tekstur, lebih membenamkan emosi, lebih tenang, dan lebih penuh penghormatan

Alih-alih membuat komposisi tabernakel terkesan terpecah-pecah, pencahayaan kini menciptakan kedalaman berlapis dan kontras yang lembut, yang secara alami mengarahkan pandangan mata melintasi narasi altar. Hasilnya adalah suasana pencahayaan yang terasa lebih harmonis, kontemplatif, dan memikat secara emosional, sekaligus tetap mempertahankan fokus visual yang tepat serta rasa khidmat di dalam ruang suci tersebut.


Tergantung pada Rasio Cahaya Latar Belakang

Studi pencahayaan ini mengkaji bagaimana rasio pencahayaan antara objek dan latar belakang memengaruhi persepsi visual, suasana emosional, dan hierarki spasial di dalam lingkungan arsitektur sakral.

Alih-alih hanya mengandalkan kecerahan secara keseluruhan, pendekatan desain ini mengevaluasi bagaimana kontras yang diatur secara tepat antara subjek dan latar belakang dapat memengaruhi fokus, persepsi kedalaman, serta respons emosional manusia.

Fokus yang Lebih Kuat dan Penekanan yang Dramatis

Pendekatan ini menghasilkan: Transisi visual yang lebih halus, persepsi ruang yang seimbang, visibilitas wajah yang nyaman, penampilan warna kulit yang alami, serta kesadaran kontekstual yang lebih baik terhadap latar belakang arsitektural.

Rasio kontras sedang ini memungkinkan pembicara tetap menjadi fokus visual utama sekaligus mempertahankan altar suci sebagai latar belakang ruang yang penting. Persepsi pencahayaan terasa: hangat dan ramah, seimbang secara spasial, tenang dan mendukung percakapan, serta terintegrasi secara arsitektural.

Kondisi pencahayaan ini cocok untuk: ceramah keagamaan, interaksi komunitas, siaran ibadah hybrid, komunikasi pendidikan atau pastoral, serta situasi yang membutuhkan kejelasan subjek sekaligus konteks lingkungan.

  • Kekayaan bahan yang rendah

  • Penurunan keterbacaan artistik

  • Persepsi warna yang datar

  • Secara visual terkesan hambar dan kurang menggugah emosi

Indeks Reproduksi Warna (CRI) yang rendah mengurangi kemampuan pencahayaan untuk menampilkan pigmen, tekstur, dan nuansa warna asli dari karya seni tersebut secara akurat.

Akibatnya:

  • Warna kulit terlihat kusam

  • Lapisan warna hangat menjadi kusam

  • Detail artistik yang halus menjadi hilang

  • Kedalaman dan dimensi menjadi berkurang

  • Narasi mural tersebut menjadi kurang ekspresif secara visual

Tingkat pencahayaan yang rendah semakin mengurangi keunggulan visual mural tersebut di dalam ruang suci, sehingga karya seni tersebut justru tenggelam dalam kegelapan alih-alih menjadi titik fokus spiritual dan artistik yang penting.

Studi pencahayaan menggunakan model tiruan ini menunjukkan bahwa kualitas pencahayaan dalam arsitektur suci tidak dapat diukur hanya berdasarkan tingkat pencahayaan semata.

Berbagai strategi pencahayaan menciptakan persepsi yang sangat berbeda mengenai suasana, spiritualitas, kenyamanan emosional, dan pengalaman arsitektural. Melalui pengendalian yang cermat terhadap hierarki luminansi, reproduksi warna, kontras, dan fokus visual, pencahayaan menjadi lebih dari sekadar penerangan teknis — ia menjadi sarana untuk kontemplasi, penghormatan, dan hubungan antarmanusia.

Proses Desain Pencahayaan Warisan Suci Gereja Katedral Jakarta

Discover how ALTA Integra transformed the iconic Jakarta Cathedral with a specialized lighting concept. This portfolio piece explores the design strategy used to enhance the sacred Neo-Gothic architecture while ensuring heritage preservation for Indonesia's landmark church.

 

Pencahayaan pada tempat ibadah bersejarah menuntut rasa hormat yang mendalam terhadap arsitektur bersejarah, liturgi keagamaan, dan pelestarian struktur bangunan. Studi kasus ini menguraikan proses desain pencahayaan yang cermat dan didasarkan pada data, yang digunakan untuk merevitalisasi interior Katedral Jakarta bergaya Neo-Gotik yang ikonik.


Fase 1

Studi Warisan Arsitektur

Studi Liturgi

Penilaian Kualitas Pencahayaan yang Ada

Sebelum memasang perlengkapan pencahayaan baru, audit empiris menyeluruh terhadap lingkungan pencahayaan yang ada wajib dilakukan untuk menjaga status warisan budaya bangunan tersebut.

Pengujian Spektral dan Intensitas Cahaya: Dengan memanfaatkan alat diagnostik canggih (seperti teknologi spektrometer UPRtek), kami memetakan tingkat cahaya sekitar dan indeks reproduksi warna di seluruh ruang utama dan ruang suci.

Temuan Data: Penilaian awal menunjukkan tingkat pencahayaan dasar sebesar 44,0 lux di tingkat bangku gereja, dengan distribusi intensitas yang sangat tidak merata (dengan tingkat efisiensi berkisar antara 25% hingga 46% di berbagai zona).

Mengidentifikasi Kekurangan: Kontras yang tinggi dan area gelap di bagian kubah atas mengurangi kesan megah dari vertikalitas gaya Neo-Gotik katedral tersebut, sementara pencahayaan fungsional yang tidak memadai mengganggu keterbacaan teks-teks liturgi.

Fokus Pelestarian Warisan Budaya: Lampu-lampu model lama yang memancarkan sinar UV tinggi dan panas telah diidentifikasi untuk diganti guna melindungi ukiran kayu, lukisan, dan artefak suci berusia berabad-abad dari degradasi fotokimia.


Fase 2

Desain Pencahayaan Konseptual

Simulasi Pencahayaan 3D & Pemetaan Digital Twin

Untuk menjamin keamanan struktural dan ketepatan visual sebelum proses pemasangan fisik dimulai, telah dirancang sebuah digital twin dari Katedral Jakarta.

Analisis Kuantitatif Warna Palsu

Dengan menggunakanperangkat lunak simulasi pencahayaan khusus, interior katedral dimodelkan untuk menghitung distribusi lux yang tepat, tingkat silau, dan reflektansi permukaan. Hasil rendering dengan warna palsu ini memungkinkan para pemangku kepentingan untuk memvisualisasikan secara tepat bagaimana cahaya berperilaku di sepanjang kubah berusuk yang rumit dan lengkungan runcing.

Penggambaran Material Kualitatif

Secara bersamaan, dihasilkan pula rendering 3D berskala abu-abu untuk mengkaji interaksi antara cahaya dan bayangan (chiaroscuro), guna memastikan bahwa integritas arsitektural serta kedalaman pilar-pilar batu dan kayu tersebut justru ditonjolkan, bukan justru terlihat datar, oleh skema baru tersebut.


Fase 3

Wireframe Konseptual 2D

Integrasi Struktural

Salah satu tantangan utama dalam pelestarian warisan budaya adalah menyematkan teknologi modern ke dalam arsitektur bersejarah tanpa mengubah struktur fisik bangunan tersebut.

  • Penempatan Lampu Tanpa Intervensi: Skema kerangka 2D ini menggambarkan penempatan yang tepat dari lampu sorot arsitektural yang terpasang di bagian atas kolom.

  • Menonjolkan Arsitektur: Dengan menerangi permukaan lengkungan runcing menggunakan cahaya hangat yang terarah, desain ini mengarahkan pandangan ke atas, sekaligus menonjolkan keunggulan rekayasa struktural katedral tersebut.

  • Prinsip Desain yang Dapat Dibongkar Pasang: Sesuai dengan standar konservasi internasional yang ketat, semua dudukan lampu dan jalur penerangan dirancang agar dapat dibongkar pasang sepenuhnya, sehingga tidak meninggalkan kerusakan permanen apa pun pada bata dan batu bersejarah.


Fase 4

Suasana Terakhir

Menyelaraskan Liturgi dan Cahaya

Tujuan akhir dari desain ini adalah untuk menciptakan suasana yang tenang dan kontemplatif yang dapat meningkatkan pengalaman spiritual jemaat.

Skema Pencahayaan Berlapis:

Lapisan Ambient: Pencahayaan yang lembut dengan nuansa hangat yang memantul dari langit-langit berkubah untuk menghasilkan pencahayaan umum yang nyaman dan bebas silau.

Lapisan Aksen: Lampu sorot terarah dengan CRI (Indeks Reproduksi Warna) tinggi yang dirancang khusus untuk Jalan Salib, altar, dan lukisan minyak suci, sehingga menonjolkan warna dan tekstur aslinya.

Lapisan Tugas: Pencahayaan yang terfokus dan dapat diatur kecerahannya, yang diarahkan secara tepat ke bangku-bangku jemaat dan ruang ibadah untuk membaca naskah dan buku nyanyian.

Kontrol Liturgi Cerdas: Seluruh sistem terintegrasi ke dalam kerangka kerja kontrol digital, sehingga memungkinkan staf gereja beralih dengan mudah di antara berbagai suasana—mulai dari misa harian yang khusyuk hingga perayaan meriah yang diterangi cahaya terang seperti Natal dan Paskah.

Kepedulian Kiehls since 1851

Kiehls adalah sebuah perusahaan farmasi kecantikan yang memulai usahanya pada tahun 1851. Pada tahun 1924 Kiehls mempelopori keterbukaan material dengan mencantumkan bahan yang terkandung di dalam produknya. Tahun 2018 Platform Kiehl’s Future Made Better diluncurkan untuk mewujudkan komitmen pembangunan berkelanjutan dalam rangka menjaga keberlangsungan bumi dan kegiatan filantropis lainnya.

Di tahun 2020 Kiehls berhasil meningkatkan persentase kandungan bahan terbarukan pada semua produk perawatan kecantikan sampai dengan 98%. Tahun 2022, Kiehls dibawah manajemen L’oreal menjalankan program Retail Sustainable untuk meningkatkan kenyaman dan kesehatan pekerja dan pelanggan serta membangun dan mengoperasikan toko ramah lingkungan.

Sebagai langkah awal Sustainablity Design team L’oreal International memilih outlet Kiehls di Central Park Jakarta sebagai proyek pertama program Retail Sustainable di Indonesia, dan ALTA Integra terpilih untuk menjadi partner dalam mewujudkan program tersebut.

Sustainable Retail Box

Sustainable Retail Box diadaptasi dari rating US Green Building Council LEED dan International WELL Building Institute rating. Adapun parameter L’oreal Sustaible Retail Box dibagi menjadi 6 kategori sebagai berikut.

  1. Construction & Project Management

    Manajemen proyek dan konstruksi melibatkan seluruh stakeholder seperti desainer-kontraktor-landlord dalam proyek sustainable retail, mereview perencanaan kualitas desain dan konstruksi, menjaga kualitas udara saat dan setelah konstruksi, memilah material bongkaran yang dapat digunakan kembali, material bongkaran untuk didaur ulang, sampah berbahaya, dan aspek lainnya.

  2. Building Design & Space Layout

    Desain bangunan dan layout ruangan meliputi aksesibilitas difabel, kenyamanan indera penciuman, ergonomic furniture, manajemen sampah operasional toko dan lain-lain.

  3. Materials

    Kategori bahan meliputi penggunaan kayu bersertifikat, material eco-label, material dengan kandungan kimia yang terdeklarasi , material dan furniture rendah emisi, dan lain-lain.

  4. Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning

    Pemanasan, Pendinginan dan Pertukaran Udara meliputi kenyamanan termal sesuai dengan ASHRAE Standard 55-2010, kecepatan sirkulasi udara, tingkat pertukaran udara, sistem filter sirkulasi udara, dan lain-lain.

  5. Lighting & Electricity

    Pencahayaan dan Listrik meliputi lighting desain dan automasi hemat energi, penggunaan lampu LED dan perangkat toko hemat energi, perhitungan penggunaan listrik per meter persegi dan pemasangan listrik metering untuk monitor harian, konektifitas internet, pembatasan eksposur elektromagnet dan lain-lain. Selain desain hemat energi, kualitas pencahayaan yang harus dicapai meliputi level pencahayaan di tiap bagian, color temperatur dan color rendering index untuk yang sejalan dengan kualitas produk yang dijual.

  6. Water

    Kategori air meliputi ketersediaan air minum untuk pekerja, air yang aman untuk membersihkan uji coba sampel perawatan, strategi desain plumbing agar tercipta penggunaan air yang hemat, pemasangan meter air untuk memonitor penggunaan air harian dan lain-lain.

Pengukuran parameter teknis pencahayaan seperti tingkat pencahayaan (Lux) , correlated color temperature (Kelvin) dan Color Rendering Index sebagai benchmark data untuk penilaian peningkatan performa dan index kepuasan.

This underpass will be the symbol of friendship between two big religions in the world.

Lighting Design: Jakarta Cathedral Church Towers

Before there is no electricity and light technology, Bell is used as a communication tool from church to public. They created many bell codes to communicate different occasions, for example, three times bell sound means an invitation for Sunday Mass. Five times bell sound means there is a happy event inside the church.

Light as a new communication medium

Before there is no electricity and light technology, Bell is used as a communication tool from church to public. They created many bell codes to communicate different occasions, for example, three times bell sound means an invitation for Sunday Mass. Five times bell sound means there is a happy event inside the church.

Audiovisual and Lighting Design Plaza Maria Gereja Katedral Jakarta. With the mindset of respecting the architectural and heritage value of the building, we have choses solutions and technology that improved the congregation spiritual experience.

Saint Mary of the Assumption Cathedral Church in Jakarta is one of the most famous and beautiful cathedral churches in Indonesia. The construction began in the year 1891 - 1901 lead by Pastor Antonius Dijkmans, SJ who is appointed as the architect. Due to the lack of funding, construction was halted. After sufficient funds were accrued, MJ Hulswitt resumed the construction in the year 1899.

With the growth of population in Jakarta and so do the members of the Catholic Congregation, the church decided to increase the mass capacity of the church by developing an outdoor area as the extension space to make room for more people on Sunday Morning Mass or Special Event Mass. 

The plan started in 2018, with the mindset of respecting the architectural and heritage value of the building. Taking advantage, choosing solutions and technology that would improve the congregation spiritual experience in accordance with international performance standards.


All the concerning issues were noted from the beginning as shown by the owners, including giving the church stakeholders: scientific methodology of acoustical, audio-visual technology and lighting engineering design, transparent tender, and professional construction management.

Collaborating with the interior designer, Mmoser Singapore and CDA International, we selected state-of-the-art acoustic and audiovisual technology to adapt to its growing presence in Indonesia.
