This video introduces lighting, architectural acoustics, electroacoustics, and audio system design for the expansion of Makassar Cathedral, known locally as Gereja Katedral Makassar. The project responds to the needs of a growing congregation and is supported by the community’s collective fundraising efforts.

In 2023, the church building committee invited ALTA Integra to serve as the lighting consultant. The consultancy scope subsequently expanded to include architectural acoustics, electroacoustics, and audio systems, bringing connected design disciplines into the cathedral expansion project.

Presented in Herwin Gunawan’s portfolio, this entry places the design work within the context of worship and sacred architecture. It offers a perspective on coordinating light, room acoustics, and sound systems around the needs of the congregation and the spiritual and liturgical experience of the space.
